Deborah H.'s Story

After graduating from a "Yankee"(lol) school in my senior year, I was accepted at USF and after being there until mid-terms I came down with the worst case of Mono my doctor had ever seen. Coincidentally, he was a direct decendant of Robert E. Lee and also acquired his name. I was in the hospital for 3 weeks and when I got out I traveled from Tampa to Jax.to visit my best friend, Beverly Graycar whom I think many of you will remember. (She's also just as beautiful now as she was then).I moved to my own place (because she already had a roommate), worked for the Telephone Co. and in '67 I headed back up to CT to go to my Mother's second wedding. I met a friend (Suzanne) at work where I was still working for the Telehone Co.and eventually she and I decided to take a road trip and she stayed in San Diego where we went first and she had a friend there and I wanted to drive up to Los Angeles, CA. I loved it there and called Beverly (who was still in Jax.) and asked her to drop everything and come on out to CA to be my roommate. We went to a lot of parties (one where Burt Bacharach (sp.?) was playing) and just generally had a great time there. I had a good job but I had visited San Fran with a friend and fell in love with it! As soon as I got back I gave my two weeks notice and moved there for about a year. I had a good job in San Fran and saved $900 (I'm glad I bought the book "Europe on $5 a day) that year to take a trip to Europe. The friend that planned to go with me changed her mind at the last minute so I went alone. It was SOOOO much fun!!!! I know this is a long story but now I'll shorten it up. I got back from Europe after 3 months and moved back to CA then after staying there for 6 months I moved back to CT where I met my 1st husband. I began to have this urge to have children and so after dating this man for 3 months he popped the question, we were married and after 4 years I had three handsome boys and 3 ye...Expand for more
ars later gave birth to my 4th handsome son. When I was 39 I had my first daughter and she is absolutely beautiful (no boasting here, lol!). I got divorced from my 1st husband and met my second husband at 50 online. I talked to him for about 4-5 hours a night for 3 months and I came here to visit him and never left. We were married 8 days after I arrived and just celebrated our 11th anniversay two months ago. I now have a bucket list since I am fulfilling some of my older dreams. I have 6 classes to go to become a Social Worker, I have had 3 sucessful bjusinesses, one that was public relations and helped me raise my children for many years. I just wrote a book entitled "Everlasting Love" which I'd love for all of you to read. You can order it at Barnes and Noble or any bookstore that doesn't deal in just antique or rare collections. It's a poetry book and will be out by the middle of September. It's hard to contain my excitement about it. After this I plan to model for an agency in FL that has younger as well as older models and is very reputable. I plan to write two novels and take private ballet lessons, Isn't that a hoot!!!! Right now my two older sons who both have a MA degree are teaching English in other countries. The oldest is turtoring (or freelancing) in Ho Chi Ming City,Vietnam and the second oldest is a full professor of English in Damman, Saudi Arabia at the Uniiversity of Saudi Arabia based in Ryadh (the capitol).. I am so very blessed and I hope I haven't bored you with this rendition but 44 years I think does require a little more than just a few sentences. Actially, I've only touched on the tip of the iceberg. I wish you all health and happiness and peace of mind (especially if you've had teenagers).:-)))) Love and Happiness to you all, Deb I always wanted to be a dancer when I grew up. My family thought that was a bad idea. As it turns out, they were were wrong. See My Story
